The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is an instrument used to assess personality preferences in a normal population. It is not a test. Tests, by their design and purpose, measure right and wrong. The MBTI simply provides information about how you are 'wired'.
The MBTI helps you understand your preferences for how you interact with your world. If you wonder why it is that sometimes you and your partner, associate, or fellow worker, for example, keep stumbling over the same issues, ways of doing things or ideas, it may be in part because you and that person are 'wired' differently. Realizing that it isn't a matter of right or wrong, but rather how you can interact, complimenting each other, is most often a relief to both and invigorating in moving forward together.
The MBTI is used in many settings, for example: workplaces, schools, universities, counseling practices, and religious organizations. I have used the MBTI effectively with individuals, couples, groups in religious settings, and small teams at workplaces.
Only people who have been trained specifically to use and interpret the MBTI are qualified to administer it. In 2000 I received that qualification from the Association for Psychological Type. After you have taken the MBTI, I give you a face-to-face interpretation of the results. You may ask questions and ultimately substantiate the results that best suit you.
I am available to individuals, couples, groups, and work or leadership teams who may be interested in the MBTI.
